Major General Kaspars Pudāns is the current Chief of Defence of the Republic of Latvia (Commander of the National Armed Forces), a position he assumed in January 2025. He has over 25 years of service, including experience in NATO’s mission in Afghanistan and duty as Latvia’s military representative to NATO/EU in Brussels.
