Lieutenant General Andrus Merilo is the current Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces, having assumed the role in July 2024. He has extensive combat experience from deployments to Lebanon, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and previously commanded the Scouts Battalion and the 1st Infantry Brigade.
